"Frenchys Sutra” is Jennifer’s latest series exploring the expression of time in the vernacular, and the first time she has worked with textiles. Traveling to each of the sixteen Guys Frenchys outlets locates each composition in the particulars of that visit. Working with recycled clothing as a medium has strengthened Jen’s interest in the origins of artist’s materials.
Jennifer received her MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1993, after graduating from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine with a degree in Liberal Arts.
Originally from New England, Jennifer and her family spent five years exploring Alberta before moving back east to the Maritimes in 1998. She currently is a member of the Drawing Faculty at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, and also teaches Media and Creative Communication for the Multimedia Program at UNB/Fredericton.
Jennifer and family live on a small farm in Keswick Ridge, New Brunswick with many chickens and a large organic vegetable garden.
